Enabling Multilingual DNS on Windows NT 4.0

Modifying "cache.dns" file

Step 1: Download i-DNS "cache.dns"

Step 2: Stop your DNS service if it is running.
From "Start" button, go to "Control Panel", select "Services" and stop "DNS Service".

Step 3: Replace your "cache.dns"
Replace your copy of "cache.dns" with the one you have just downloaded.

The default location of "cache.dns" is at at ‘%SystemRoot%\system32\dns’.

It is usually at C:\winnt\system32\dns

Step 4: Restart your DNS Service
Users who use your machine’s name server for domain name queries will now be able to resolve multilingual domain names

You may wish to add your name server particulars to our list of i-DNS enabled compatible servers. This will enable Internet users to know the patched status of your name server.
