Net Domain Registration in Hindi Launched

India, The Hindustan Times, 17 August 2000 -- Information and technology minister Pramod Mahajan today launched internet domain registration site making it possible to register dotcom domain names in Hindi.

Designed by the leading American website registration firm i-DNS.net International, the Hindi version follows the earlier successful launches in the Tamil and Telugu language.

Mahajan said the launch would address a vast non-English speaking population in the country .

Internet firms can register their names in 55 languages through the firm and this will now include three prominent Indian languages S. Subbiah, co-founder of i-DNS.net International said.

i-DNS.net is a Silicon Valley based firm offering multilingual Internet technologies and solutions.
