i-DNS.net Appoints Inplaza.net As Registrar For Korean Domain Names

General, i-DNS.net International, 20 November 2000 -- i-DNS.net International, the leading multilingual domain names technology provider, today announced that it would be partnering Internet Plaza City Co Ltd, an international domain registrar headquartered in Korea, to offer registrations of domain names entirely in Korean.

With immediate effect, Internet Plaza will accept registrations of full Korean domain names ending with . , . and . (the top level domains for .com, .net and .org respectively) on their website - www.inplaza.net

Previously, domain names could only be rendered in Roman or English characters. This presented a significant challenge to non-English speaking users who do not use these characters in their written language. i-DNS is built upon Unicode and currently supports more than 59 languages (accounting for more than 90% of the world's major non-English languages) and their respective multiple encoding. It is fully compatible with commonly used Internet browsers and inter-operable with the current Domain Name System (DNS).

"We feel that our offering of full Korean domain names will greatly enhance our position as premier providers of Internet Real Estate," said Yoo Wan-Sang, CEO of Internet Plaza. "I am positive that customers who have long awaited for a truly interoperable technology will be satisfied at being able to use their new domain names inside and outside of Korea."

"Korea is one of the most Internet-mature markets in the world and I believe that this new technology will serve to extend the reach and accessibility of Korean websites, portals and e-businesses throughout the world," said Lo Pang Hee, Chief Operations Officer of i-DNS.net.

i-DNS.net currently provides local language domain name registration services across the globe in more than 20 different languages through its respective registrar partners.
