i-DNS.net Deploys Multilingual DNS Technology with NSI

Online, hk.myinfoage.com, 25 August 2000 -- i-DNS.net International will be deploying its i-DNS technology with NSI in facilitation of registrations of non-English domain names.

The NSI Registry would be cooperating with more than 60 ICANN-accredited registrars to accept multilingual domain name registrations in a testbed. Mr. Michael Ng, CEO of i-DNS.net International hopes that the testbed can allow more Internet users achieve global interaction in their own native tongue and system of writing.

Despite support from the NSI Registry, there has yet to be named a standard system for such technology. Chinese DNS has just joined the competition with its own Chinese DNS system that is incompatible with the other systems. Future developments can yet to be ascertained.

i-DNS.net has said that its i-DNS technology is based on the Unicode system, which supports RACE, UTF-5, UTF-8 and other standard encoding, and is completely compatible with the browsers and DNS commonly in use.
