"For the first time, companies and individuals will be able to create web sites using Arabic domain names," Lo Pang Hee, Chief Operating Officer of the i-DNS.net International Company, told a Cairo press conference yesterday.
The company, which has entered into a commercial partnership with Link-Egypt and Internet Egypt, has chosen Egypt as its launch platform for the Middle East region because of its strategically important location, Lo added.
"All you have to do now is access any web site to key in the Arabic characters. This will help bridge a gap that has hithero hindered Internet access for non-native English speakers," Lo concluded.
